Police Bust Warehouse Theft Syndicate In Bauchi

Operatives of the Bauchi Police Command have arrested a suspected thief following the bust of a syndicate involved in warehouse theft across the metropolis. On November 11, 2024, Ukasha Adamu, a 23-year-old resident of Ajiya Adamu Road in Bauchi, was apprehended after an investigation by the State Intelligence Department (SID).

According to SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, the spokesman for the Bauchi State Police Command, Adamu and his accomplices utilized fabricated keys to gain access to stores and steal valuable items.

Among the recovered goods were 150 bags of parboiled rice, 43 cartons of spaghetti, 20 cartons of vegetable oil, and 42 cartons of liquid fertilizer. The police estimate the total value of the seized items at over N13.25 million.

In a related development, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), led by CSP Suleiman M. Tambuwal, arrested a suspected dealer of harmful substances known as methylene chloride, or “Suck and Die,” at Tudun Wadan Dan Iya, Bayan Gari.

The suspect, Kabiru Adamu, was found with hundreds of bottles and containers of the dangerous substance, which he admitted to selling. These substances, including diamond rubber solution, were reportedly sold for as low as N300 and N250 per unit.

The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, has directed further investigations to ensure the prosecution of the suspects and the apprehension of other members of the syndicate.
