BEEF? Pep Guardiola Will Be Very Angry After Reading What Lionel Messi Said About Him

Lionel Messi

Lionel Messi has expressed that he didn’t quite appreciate Pep Guardiola’s training methods at Barcelona club, finding them confusing.

The Argentina captain criticized how these tactics were taught to young kids at La Masia, arguing that such a strict approach could limit their natural abilities.

In an interview with JP Varsky on Clank Media, Messi noted that young players were instructed to take two touches and play faster. He believes that instead of this rigid training, children should be taught to understand the game better and improve their movements to find spaces.

Reflecting on the Guardiola era, Messi said (via Mundo Albiceleste):

“The Guardiola era was a bit confusing. Six and seven-year-old kids are already being told to play with two touches, to play fast, and not to hold onto the ball much. I think at that age, they should be taught to better understand the game, know how to move, find spaces, and play quickly without losing their spontaneity.”
