The Simon Ekpa-led Biafra Republic Government In-Exile has refuted claims by the Nigeria Police Force that 27 alleged criminals, including Ekpa’s supporters, were killed in Enugu State.
The police had reported that the individuals were gunned down in shoot-outs with security operatives at various locations across the state over the past two weeks.
However, Ekpa swiftly responded, denying the allegations and claiming that the 27 persons reportedly killed were actually innocent Biafrans, not his supporters.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ekpa alleged that the Enugu State government was engaging in propaganda to justify its offensive attacks on citizens.
He emphasized that the victims were not affiliated with him or his movement, but rather were innocent individuals caught in the crossfire.
“This is false and lies, not only that, it has exposed Nigeria state as a failed state and as a country that has failed to uphold human dignity.
“Simon Ekpa has no boys in Enugu, you have killed innocent Biafrans to prove a point to Abuja”, he said.
He further alleged that in Abia State, the Nigeria Police opened fire and started shooting each other thinking they were all Biafra fighters.
