Residents of the community are in a state of panic following an incident that reportedly occurred on Sunday evening during a heavy downpour.

Olayinka Ayanlade, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the occurrence in a telephone conversation with Channels Television, expressing his dismay at the unfortunate event, which he noted was a natural occurrence.

To address any potential concerns arising from the incident, Ayanlade indicated that police authorities have reached out to community leaders to ensure that the situation does not escalate into controversy.

This is not the first time such an event has happened in the area; a similar incident occurred in 2019 in Ijare, Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, where thunder and lightning struck, resulting in the deaths of 36 cows on a hill in the community.
