Rapper Ruggedman Reportedly Detained by Lagos SCID Over Dispute with PMAN

Popular Nigerian rapper Ruggedman has reportedly been detained by the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti. The arrest is said to be linked to an ongoing dispute involving the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN).
The development was made public by human rights advocate Harrison Gwamnishu, who took to Instagram on Thursday to raise concerns over the artist’s detention. According to Gwamnishu, Ruggedman and others involved in the case are allegedly facing harsh treatment at the hands of the police, despite the fact that no formal investigation has been concluded.
“There has been no proper investigation, yet he and others are being maltreated. I wish to draw the attention of Nigerians to what is going on,” Gwamnishu stated in his post.
While the full details of the dispute between Ruggedman and PMAN have not been disclosed, the incident has sparked concern among fans and human rights observers, who are calling for transparency and due process in the handling of the case.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from either the Lagos State Police Command or PMAN regarding the situation.
