A tragic incident occurred in Bauchi State, Nigeria, where a 25-year-old housewife, Salamatu Danjuma, allegedly stabbed her husband to death during a heated argument over child custody. The dispute arose when the husband changed his mind about allowing Salamatu’s six-year-old daughter from a previous relationship to live with them.

According to the police statement, the couple had initially agreed to bring the child into their home, but the husband’s sudden change of heart caused tension to rise. The situation escalated into a fatal argument, resulting in Salamatu allegedly grabbing a knife from their bedroom and stabbing her husband.

The police responded promptly to a distress call and rushed the victim to Cottage Hospital, Bununu, where he was confirmed dead. The State Commissioner of Police has directed a discreet investigation into the matter, ensuring that appropriate legal actions will be taken.

Salamatu Danjuma remains in custody as the investigation continues.

The suspect remains in custody as operatives of the command continue their probe into the case, he said.
