Rodri Hails Man City Team-mate Foden After Winning Player Of The Year Award
Manchester City midfielder Rodri has praised teammate Phil Foden, saying he has the potential to become the “best English player in history”.
Rodri’s comments came after Foden won the PFA Player of the Year award on Tuesday night, recognizing his outstanding performances for City.
Foden had a remarkable season, scoring 19 goals in 35 appearances as City secured their fourth consecutive Premier League title under Pep Guardiola.
His impressive form earned him the prestigious award, beating out strong competition from Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, as well as his City teammates Rodri and Erling Haaland.
Rodri’s endorsement highlights Foden’s immense talent and potential for future success.
With his dedication and continued impressive performances, Foden may indeed become one of the greatest English players of all time.
Rodri said:
“I’m so, so happy about Phil. To be honest he’s a very good kid, a very shy kid.
“For me, he has the ability to be the best English player in history when he finishes his career. He needs to keep the level up in his game, already he’s one of the best players in the league and in Europe.”
