Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca Bans 20 Players From Training

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has clarified the current state of his team’s squad.

Contrary to reports, Maresca confirmed that he is not working with 42 players. Instead, he revealed that he is training with a smaller group of 21 players.

The remaining players have been separated from the main squad, as Maresca prepares his team for the upcoming UEFA Conference League play-off first leg against Servette on Thursday.

The Chelsea boss addressed the squad situation in a pre-match press conference, providing clarity on the team’s current dynamics.

Maresca said:

“I am not working with 42 players. I am working with 21 players.

“The other 15-20 players are training apart. I don’t see them. It’s not a mess like it looks from outside. Absolutely not.

“They can even have 20 years contract, it’s not my point. I don’t care.”
