Championship Club Middleborough Mock Cristiano Ronaldo
Middlesbrough Takes a Swipe at Cristiano Ronaldo Following UEFA Nations League Match
English Championship club Middlesbrough has aimed a playful jab at Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo after his recent outburst following a UEFA Nations League match against Scotland. The football icon faced frustration as Portugal was held to a disappointing 0-0 draw at Hampden Park on Tuesday.
During the match, Ronaldo struggled to impact the game, managing only four shots with just one hitting the target. His inability to find the back of the net contributed to Portugal’s lackluster performance, leaving fans and pundits alike questioning his current form.
After the final whistle, Ronaldo expressed his anger towards the referee, who concluded the match just as his team was preparing to take a corner kick. This moment of frustration has drawn attention not only from fans but also from clubs like Middlesbrough, highlighting the competitive spirit and banter that often characterizes the football community.
The Real Madrid legend stormed off the pitch after the game.
Ben Doak, on loan at Middleborough from Liverpool, started for Scotland against Portugal.
Following the game, the Championship outfit aimed a jibe at the former Real Madrid and Juventus man by posting a picture of a moment involving the Portugal captain and Doak during the game.
The Scottish winger can be seen smiling at Ronaldo, who looked frustrated.
The Scot’s hands were on the legend’s chest as Middleborough captioned the post:
“Alright, mate?”
