
“A fatal road accident occurred on the Long Bridge of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Monday at approximately 5:38 a.m., resulting in the loss of two lives.
According to Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun Sector Command, the crash involved a Mazda bus with registration number EDE217XB and a MAN diesel truck registered as AJL715XA.
Three male adults were involved in the accident, with one person sustaining injuries and two others tragically losing their lives. Okpe identified road obstruction and driver fatigue as the primary causes of the crash.
The injured victim was rushed to Hopeland Hospital in Warewa for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue at Real Divine Hospital in Ibafo.”
She said,
“The number of people involved was three, all male adults. One person sustained injuries while the other two were killed in the crash.”
“The suspected causes of the crash were road obstruction and fatigue.”
The Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, expressed sympathy to the families of the deceased and advised motorists to always be alert while driving and to take regular breaks to avoid fatigue and falling asleep at the wheel.
