Police Arrest Woman Smuggling AK-47 And Magazines Hidden In Garri Sack On Abuja-Kaduna Highway

A 30-year-old woman, Hauwa Yusuf, was apprehended by the Special Tactical Squad (STS) during a stop-and-search operation on the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

She was found concealing an AK-47 rifle and four magazines within a sack of garri.

According to police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, Yusuf confessed to being sent by notorious bandit Aminu Basullube, known for causing trouble in Katsina State.

Yusuf was en route from Lafia, Nasarawa State, to Katsina State when intercepted on August 14, 2024.

The search revealed the hidden arms, and Yusuf admitted her mission was to deliver them to the Danum Madam Camp in Katsina State.
