Eyewitnesses described horrific scenes, including victims burned beyond recognition and families frantically searching through rubble for missing loved ones.

Local sources confirmed that at least, 107 bodies had been recovered by Saturday afternoon,

though the search for more victims continued.

Residents expressed their grief and outrage on social media, describing the attack as devastating and highlighting the failure of leadership in addressing ongoing insecurity. One witness chillingly described the smell of burning human flesh still lingering in the air.

While the Benue State Police acknowledged the attack, they have not released an official death toll. The state government has yet to respond publicly.

Meanwhile, political figures like Engr. Thaddeus Orkpe, a House of Representatives aspirant, condemned the massacre, calling for urgent action to protect citizens and bring the perpetrators to justice.
