Kwara Student Found Dead After Being Paid N15,000 To Act As Girlfriend
Awesu Mojisola Oluwafunmike, a 21-year-old final-year student at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, had just celebrated her sign-out ceremony three weeks before her tragic death.
She had shared photos and videos from the event on social media before going missing on August 9, 2024.
According to Prof. Anifowose Olamilekan, a lecturer in Kwara, Mojisola’s mother is employed as a cleaner with the Ogun State Waste Management Agency.
A report by Mojisola’s roommate, Miss Blessing O, revealed that Mojisola received a phone call on August 9 from Miss Timileyin, who informed her about a student-organized event in Ilorin.
Timileyin introduced Mojisola to Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student of Summit University, who allegedly invited her to a night party under the pretense of paying her #15,000 to act as his girlfriend.
Sadly, Mojisola’s lifeless body was later found at a dumpsite, leaving her family and friends in shock and grief.
The circumstances surrounding her death are still unclear, but the incident has raised concerns about safety and the potential dangers of responding to suspicious invitations.

Upon her arrival in Ilorin, Miss Mojisola informed her roommate that she felt uncomfortable in the hotel she was lodged by Adebayo Happiness and noted that there was no party at the said location.
Shortly after this communication, her phone was switched off and all subsequent efforts by Miss Blessing to reach her were unsuccessful.
