Global music sensation Wizkid, whose real name is Ayo Balogun, has opened up about his life, sharing the experiences that have shaped his perspective.
Reflecting on his childhood, Wizkid recalled growing up in a large family of 11 children, with four of them being his full siblings from his mother.
He nostalgically remembered the challenging times when he and his siblings often went without meals, an experience that has likely influenced his worldview and driven his success.
By sharing these personal insights, Wizkid offers a glimpse into the humble beginnings that have contributed to his journey as a renowned artist.
“I came from the bottom, I know what it feels like not to have anything.
“There was a time in my life when I had never even had breakfast, it was just lunch or maybe dinner,” he shared.
Despite his immense fame, Wizkid emphasised that his humble beginnings have instilled in him a sense of gratitude and composure, which no level of success can compromise.
The “Made in Lagos” artist expressed heartfelt appreciation for his parents, particularly his late mother, for their invaluable guidance and support.
