POS Operator Arrested For 4 Million From Kidnappers
The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a Point of Sale (POS) operator for allegedly receiving N4 million from kidnappers. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, made this announcement in a statement on Thursday, highlighting the significant sum involved in the criminal transaction.
According to Edafe, the POS operator managed to pocket only N40,000 as profit from the transaction, raising concerns about the involvement of local businesses in criminal activities. The police spokesman issued a stern warning to other POS operators, urging them to steer clear of such illicit transactions that could lead to legal repercussions.
This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat kidnapping and related crimes in the region, as authorities strive to maintain public safety and security. The Delta State Police Command continues to encourage community members to report suspicious activities to help combat criminal operations.
“My message to POS operators, transaction above five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) can get you into trouble,” he warned.
Edafe said the POS operators should be wise in doing their businesses, saying, “You may argue that you are doing business, but before your lawyer will get you out, you may spend sometime cooling off in prison.”
