According to Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the exact number of people involved is still unknown. Preliminary investigations suggest that brake failure caused one of the vehicles to lose control and collide with another, leading to the tragic accident.

One man was injured and rushed to AZ Zonecare Hospital in Magboro, while four people lost their lives, including one man and three women. The deceased were taken to either the Real Divine Hospital morgue in Ibafo or claimed by their families.

Sector Commander Akinwumi Fasakin expressed condolences to the bereaved families and urged drivers to prioritize safety by avoiding speeding and conducting regular vehicle maintenance checks to prevent such accidents.”
