Chelsea are set to revive their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after he submitted a transfer request, as reported by The Evening Standard.
The Blues had been close to signing Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion for €40million, but the deal has fallen through.
Osimhen, who has a €130million release clause in his contract, is eager to leave Italy this summer. Chelsea had previously discussed a potential swap deal with Napoli involving Romelu Lukaku, and may now renew their interest in Osimhen.
However, Napoli will only consider selling Osimhen if they receive an offer close to his release clause, paving the way for a potential bidding war.”
However, Osimhen has made it clear he wants to leave as sporting director Giovanni Manna confirmed over the weekend: “Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club. He wants to go.
“The situation is clear, there were already chances for his exit last summer. Victor wants to leave. We will see in the next 20 days.”
