Chelsea vs Servette Clash Will Not Be Shown On TV
Chelsea has confirmed that their UEFA Conference League play-off first leg against Servette on Thursday will not be televised.
The Premier League announced on Wednesday that there are no TV rights for the fixture, leaving fans without a traditional broadcast option.
However, Chelsea has made the match available for streaming on the 5th Stand app, similar to their pre-season games, for a fee of £4.99. This provides an alternative for fans to watch the game, despite the lack of TV coverage.
The Blues are looking to secure a spot in the main competition by defeating their Swiss opponents over two legs.
Chelsea’s participation in the Conference League comes after finishing sixth in the league last season, which would have normally qualified them for the Europa League.
However, Manchester United’s FA Cup final win over Manchester City meant that United claimed the final Europa League spot from England for this campaign, relegating Chelsea to the Conference League.
