Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is likely to be without key player Rodri for the team’s Premier League opener against Chelsea on Sunday. Rodri, who helped Spain win Euro 2024, has been granted extended time off and missed the Community Shield win over Manchester United.
According to Manchester Evening News, he is not expected to return to training until Wednesday, possibly due to an injury sustained in the Euros final.

With limited time to regain match fitness, it is unlikely that Rodri will feature in the starting XI against Chelsea.
Instead, his return is expected to be delayed until the match against Ipswich Town on August 24, giving him sufficient time to get back up to speed.
