Manchester United Goalkeeper Andre Onana Vows to Take More Risks This Season
After a debut season marked by both highs and lows, Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has promised to take a more adventurous approach in the upcoming campaign. Signed by manager Erik ten Hag to replace David De Gea, Onana was brought in for his ability to play a more expansive style, including passing out from the back, venturing off his line, and even outside his penalty box.
Although his home debut against Lens was marred by a goal conceded from the halfway line, Onana settled in and went on to play in all but one of United’s 54 games. Now, the 28-year-old Cameroon stopper is ready to push the boundaries even further, warning fans that he will take more risks in the pursuit of success.
With his confidence and experience growing, Onana is poised to become an even more integral part of United’s squad.
Ahead of his season campaign, Onana said:
“I think it’s what you’re going to see this season because I will take a lot of risks.
“I can tell you in advance already! Be prepared because it’s going be (like that) this season, trust me! I will enjoy it even more when this season starts.
“The best team in the world takes risks. Building from the back, recognizing things, situations, when the opponent jumps one against one or when they press with three or with four.”
