CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: Bayern Munich Banned From Wearing Red Kit For Home Clash

UEFA has banned Bayern Munich from wearing their home kit in the Champions League due to the color of their numbers. The German giants are set to face Celtic on Wednesday, but they will have to wear an alternative kit.

Bayern Munich has been forced to wear their away strips when playing at the Allianz Arena throughout the tournament. In their recent win over Slovan Bratislava, they wore their beige kit. However, UEFA has imposed a ban, and modifications will have to be made to their home shirt if they want to wear red in the remaining games of this season’s Champions League.

According to reports from BILD, European football’s governing body has taken issue with the dark numbers on the red jersey, claiming they do not offer enough contrast for viewers. This is understood to be a violation of the visibility regulations.

As a result, Bayern Munich will have to wear either their black or beige strips. When they head to Glasgow to face Celtic, they will do so without their red kit, despite there being no kit clash with Celtic’s green and red hoops.
