We Will Restore Electricity To North In Five Days – Adebayo Adelabu
Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, has assured the public that electricity will be restored in the next five days to the 17 northern states affected by recent blackouts caused by the vandalism of the Shiroro-Kaduna transmission line. The minister provided this assurance on Monday while addressing State House correspondents following a meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
In his statement, Adelabu emphasized that the repairs on the vandalized transmission line are expected to be completed “within three to five days.” This quick turnaround is crucial for restoring power to the impacted regions and alleviating the suffering of residents.
To facilitate the repair efforts, the minister noted that President Tinubu has directed the National Security Adviser (NSA) and security chiefs to ensure the necessary security is in place for the personnel working on the damaged line. With this security assurance, Adelabu expressed confidence that the staff of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), along with contractors, will feel safe and empowered to proceed with the restoration work in the field.
“So, I’m just appealing to our northern brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, to bear with us that very soon, light will be restored, and we must all collectively protect our national grid to avoid further vandalisation,” said the minister.
