Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, made this disclosure during an interview on AIT on Tuesday, August 6. This announcement comes as protesters continue to demand the return of fuel subsidies as a solution to alleviate the rising cost of living.

However, Edun emphasized that fuel subsidy is not included in the 2024 national budget, citing signs that the country is moving in the right direction.

He said:

“There is no fuel subsidy in the Budget. That is the truth and the technical fact. We have signs that we are going in the right direction. What we must determine to do is to maintain these trends.”
