A 58-year-old man has lost his life while attempting a 19-day spiritual dry fast in Lagos.

The incident occurred on Monday at approximately 6:00 am in the Alagbado area of the state.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Tuesday. According to Hundeyin, the deceased’s younger brother reported the incident at the Alagbado Police Division around 7:00 pm on Monday.

The younger brother revealed that his sibling had embarked on a 19-day dry fasting, which ultimately led to his demise. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, but the police have acknowledged the report and may conduct further investigations into the matter.

Hundeyin said,

“No foul play suspected, family demands to convey the corpse for burial.”
