Addressing reporters, CP Dantawaye dismissed claims that the Nigeria Police Force is overwhelmed by the security challenges in the state.

He emphasized that the fight against criminal elements remains active and strategic. From February 2025 to date, the command recorded significant breakthroughs, arresting 66 suspects for armed robbery, 75 for kidnapping, 18 for culpable homicide, 21 for unlawful possession of firearms, 4 for rape, 6 for cultism, and 49 others for various offenses.

Recovered exhibits include sophisticated weapons such as five AK-47 rifles, two AK-49 rifles, nine magazines, over 400 rounds of ammunition, locally made firearms, and pump-action guns.

The Commissioner credited the success to intelligence-led policing and strong collaboration with community stakeholders.

He called for continued public support, urging traditional rulers, religious and opinion leaders, youth organizations, market associations, and security outfits like vigilantes and hunters to play active roles in providing credible and timely information.

CP Dantawaye reaffirmed the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of lives and property across Kogi State.
