A bricklayer named Bayo Jeje has abandoned his wife, Iyanu Ehuwa Jeje, and their newborn triplets at a hospital in Igbokoda, Ondo State. The incident occurred on Tuesday when Jeje disappeared after learning about the triplets’ birth. His wife had initially visited the Igbokoda Health Centre around 5 am but was delayed due to the unavailability of a doctor. She was later rushed to Aribo Hospital, where she gave birth to three baby boys.
Jeje’s disappearance has left his wife and the triplets stranded at the hospital, with no financial support. The hospital bills are piling up, and the family is in dire need of assistance. However, in a heartwarming display of kindness, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has intervened, providing immediate financial assistance to the family.
The community has also rallied around the family, offering help and support. Neighbors, friends, and well-wishers have been visiting the hospital, bringing food, clothes, and other essential items for the triplets. The outpouring of love and support has been a beacon of hope for the family during this challenging time.
Despite the difficulties, Iyanu Ehuwa Jeje remains optimistic, focusing on caring for her newborns. She expressed her gratitude to Senator Jimoh Ibrahim and the community for their support, saying, “I am overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of strangers. It’s a difficult time, but knowing that we’re not alone gives me strength.”
The incident has sparked a wider conversation about the importance of supporting new mothers and families in need. As the community continues to rally around the family, it’s clear that the triplets’ arrival has brought not only joy but also a sense of unity and purpose.
“It was after her condition worsened that she was rushed to Aribo Hospital, where she delivered the triplets.
“But instead of celebrating the joyous occasion; her husband, who had been murmuring about his financial state and situation fled, abandoning her wife with no financial support to care for the babies,” he said.
Meanwhile, a health worker in the hospital who spoke in confidence revealed that Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has intervened in the case.
He said the Ondo senator instructed one of his aides, Juwon Ade-Aworetan Juwon, the coordinator of Ondo South Advancement and Welfare Consultative Association (OSAWA) to provide them with immediate financial assistance.
