
Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) has taken disciplinary action against one of its students, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious. The university’s Acting Registrar, Victor Modebelu, announced the decision in a statement on Friday.
According to Modebelu, the Acting Vice-Chancellor received a report from the Student Disciplinary Committee regarding Chimamaka’s alleged assault on a lecturer. The lecturer in question is from the Department of Theater and Film Studies.
Following the investigation, Chimamaka was found guilty of gross misconduct and violating the Students Disciplinary Regulations, specifically Regulation 4. As a result, the university has expelled Chimamaka.
The statement reads:
“The Ag. Vice-Chancellor, consequently, on behalf of the University Senate, approved the Committee’s recommendation that you be expelled and you are hereby expelled from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.”
