Two Chinese expatriates, Chen Wenguang and Liang Ding, were abducted by unknown gunmen in Ogun State on Sunday. The kidnapping occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the Kemta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road, while the victims were visiting friends after leaving their workplace, Good One Carton Company.

According to police sources, Wenguang and Ding failed to inform security personnel, including police and military, assigned to the company, before departing. They had mentioned to a few individuals that they were heading to Kemta village, about a kilometer away.

Ogun State police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and revealed that the kidnappers have demanded a ransom from the company. The security supervisor received a call from one of the expatriates, informing him of the abduction and ransom demand.

A joint search effort was launched by police operatives from the Ewekoro Division, local vigilantes, military personnel, local hunters, and other security groups, but the missing men were not found in the Kemta Village forest. Efforts to secure their release are ongoing.
