“Tragedy struck in Kikyau village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, on Wednesday evening, when bandits launched a deadly attack on a family’s home.

Shoni Michael, an innocent woman, was shot and killed instantly by the gunmen while cooking with her daughter.

The daughter survived but suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The attackers fled into the bush, leaving behind a trail of devastation and grief.

The senseless killing of Shoni Michael and the injury of her daughter have sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the ongoing threat of banditry in the region.”

Charity Jatau, a resident of Kikyau village, confirmed the incident to Punch. She said,

“An aged woman was killed in Kikyau village last night after she was shot by armed men who we know to be terrorists. Her name is Shoni Michael. Her daughter sustained gunshot injuries.”

She added that the attack was tragic because the victims were at home preparing food for their family around 4:30 p.m. when the terrorists appeared and opened fire on them.
