“The highly anticipated commencement of domestic petrol supply by Dangote Refinery has been delayed beyond its scheduled mid-August 2024 start date.
Chairman Aliko Dangote had previously announced that the refinery would begin supplying petrol between August 10-12, 2024, following an initial postponement from July.
However, the refinery is now facing a new setback, with sources attributing the delay to a crude supply crisis affecting the 650,000 barrels per day facility.
Although no official statement has been released regarding the reason for the delay, it appears that the refinery’s struggles to secure a stable crude supply have hindered its plans to start domestic petrol distribution.”
The source statement reads:
“The commencement of fuel will come this August, however, the crude supply crisis facing the company has made things difficult.”
