N6 Claims He Sparked the Rap Feud Between M.I Abaga and Vector

Nigerian on-air personality and rapper, Nnamdi Nwabasili, popularly known as N6, has revealed that he played a key role in fueling the long-standing rap feud between Nigerian hip-hop heavyweights M.I Abaga and Vector Tha Viper.
Speaking in a recent interview with Day Genius, N6 reflected on the events that followed M.I Abaga’s 2017 controversial track “You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives,” which many viewed as a direct attack on the Nigerian rap community. According to N6, the track was a turning point that forced him to break his usual stance of staying out of rap beefs.
N6 explained that while most rappers responded to M.I’s diss in a diplomatic or subtle manner, his own reply titled “You Should Fix Up Your Life, Too” took a much more direct and aggressive approach. He believes this hard-hitting response was what inspired Vector to later unleash a full-on lyrical war against M.I.
“I did a reply track to M.I’s diss track ‘You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives,’ but he replied me with tweets. So, we didn’t go the full extent of a rap beef,” N6 recounted. “When I dropped my reply track, we got into a fight. Some people don’t know that was what led to him [M.I] and Vector’s beef.”
He further claimed that M.I responded to his diss track with a barrage of tweets—about 18 in total—but avoided engaging him musically, despite the buzz it generated. N6 added that he normally prefers a cordial relationship with fellow artists, but the circumstances pushed him to respond.
“M.I did a song entitled ‘You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives,’ and some rappers started replying him but were being diplomatic,” he said. “So, I did my reply. If you hear the things I said in my reply, I understand why out of 4,000 replies, he came for me.”
N6, known for his lyrical talent and outspoken personality, hinted that his track stood out from the crowd of responses, and may have lit the fuse for the heated rivalry between M.I and Vector that would dominate headlines in subsequent years.
