Eli Marliq Early Life and Biography

 

Eli Marliq, born Mrakpor Thomas Ovie, is a Nigerian dancehall artist known for his raw talent and energetic delivery. He hails from Otu Jeremi in Delta State, Nigeria, and was born into a Christian family as the youngest of five children—and the only son.

His upbringing in a close-knit family helped shape his grounded personality and strong work ethic.

Eli Marliq began his early education at Busola Primary School in Oworonshoki, Lagos, before attending Government College Ughelli.

He later pursued higher education in Political Science, initially at Madonna University, Okija.

Eli Marliq made his official debut in the Nigerian music scene with the release of his first single, “Greater”, in 2018. The track introduced him as a force to watch out for in the dancehall genre.

Building on that momentum, he released two projects in 2020 and 2021 titled “I Wan Blow” and “Yuseless”. These projects showcased his lyrical depth, street influence, and unique fusion of personal storytelling and dancehall rhythms.
