The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a young boy in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area, on charges of allegedly murdering his mother.

According to reports, the boy deceived his mother into following him to a location within their community. During their return, he attacked and killed her.

Sources suggest that the motive behind the killing may have been for ritual purposes. A witness, identified as Ovo, reported that locals who heard the mother’s screams rushed to the scene, overpowered the boy, and subsequently handed him over to the police.

Following his arrest, the police took the boy to the hospital for treatment after documenting his statement. Meanwhile, the body of the mother has been deposited in a morgue as investigations into the incident continue.
