Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has set his sights on two prestigious football dreams: playing in the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup.
Okoye’s desire comes after he made a successful return to the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national team, following a brief absence. He had lost his place in the team after the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
However, the 24-year-old’s impressive performances for Udinese have caught the attention of the national team selectors, paving the way for his return to the Super Eagles.
With his sights set high, Okoye will be working hard to achieve his goals and make his mark on the biggest stages in football. His determination and talent make him an exciting prospect for both club and country.

The Super Eagles face a tough fight in their bid to secure a place at the 2026 World Cup finals.
They sit fifth in Group D of the CAF World Cup qualification with just three points from four games.
“Yeah, like you said, we are in a difficult situation right now. But when we all meet up in the national team camp, it’s a great vibe—family vibes. I’m sure that we will get to our goal,” Okoye said in an interview with Italian Football Podcast.
“We have a new coach, so we are looking forward to what’s coming. It would mean the world [to play for Nigeria at the World Cup]. ”
On his UEFA Champions League dream, he said,
“For sure to one day play in the Champions League. I mean, this is what we dream of growing up; this is the number one target.
“But I know I have to take things step by step; I have to work on a lot of things. But I also know that I can be there, so that’s why we all work hard.”
