
Police Arrest Man For Kidnapping Six-Year-Old Boy In Katsina State, Demand For N2 Million Ransom
The Katsina State Police have arrested 21-year-old Halilu Yusuf for allegedly kidnapping a six-year-old boy. According to police spokesperson ASP Abubakar Aliyu, Yusuf was arrested on August 17 in Gezawa, near
Shinkafi village, based on credible intelligence.
Yusuf had kidnapped the son of his mentor from Kofar-Sauri quarters and demanded a N2 million ransom from the boy’s father.
He initially kept the boy in his room before moving him to another location, unaware that the police were tracking him. The suspect made an anonymous call to inform the father of the kidnapping, prompting the police to act swiftly.
Led by the DPO GRA, Katsina, the police team successfully traced and arrested Yusuf, rescuing the boy unharmed. During the investigation, Yusuf confessed to the crime.
He will be charged to court once the investigation is complete. The swift action of the police ensured the safe rescue of the kidnapped boy, and justice will be served accordingly.
